I just finished reading my book as part of my Halloween book challenge, and I really enjoyed it. I have a copy with Mackie (the main character) on the cover which is okay, but I much prefer the cover with the knives hanging over a pram. That alone freaked me out, and really got me excited to read it. The story takes place in a town called Gentry, where children are taken are replaced with a Replacement which you may also know as a Changeling. Mackie is one of those creatures and he was placed in a crib where a human baby called Mackie Doyle once slept. Mackie has a severe reaction to Iron, blood and cemeteries, but that doesn't stop him from trying to live a normal life.
